The 2026 Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo houses an upgraded version of the EA888 evo5 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Producing 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, this engine outperforms the base model with 67 additional horsepower and 51 more lb-ft. Matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, it also includes 4Motion® all-wheel drive as standard.
Advanced tuning includes a beefier turbocharger, upgraded pistons, rods, and crankshaft, as well as variable valve lift for both intake and exhaust. Fuel injection pressure has been increased to 7,252 psi, all while maintaining regular gasoline compatibility. The use of Miller-cycle technology supports both performance and fuel economy, delivering quicker throttle response with better efficiency.
